OUR STORY

I hope our story inspires some parent-entrepreneurs here.

As a mother, opening a new business feels like raising a new baby.

My husband Daniel & I have been married almost 8 years now & would have never known that our marriage would one day also become a work partnership.

We had been working in different fields for many years, he was in painting, repair & construction & I was in childcare.

One very hot day, I called him to find out how his day was. He said he was fine, but my instincts told me to check on him. After asking him what cross streets he was on I realized he was on my way home, so I stopped by to bring him a cold drink just to say, “I love you.”

Although I knew how hard his work was & was not the happiest about his pay, when I pulled up I just didn’t expect the sight. As I think about it right now it brings me to tears. He was covered with dirt from head to toe & not in the normal type of way. I saw the inner stress & my heart literally began to break.

I burst into tears when I remembered this, because it has never stopped him from working as hard as possible to bring food for our table & a roof over our heads. When he saw me, he gave me a big smile & gave me a kiss on my forehead.

On the way home, it was like I became a different version of myself. I started thinking of ways I could further help him stop doing this "machine-made job." I was determined that through the fear, frustration, stress, tears I would team up with him & we would make a new life for our family.

I took the previous experience that I had gained over time & we began to implement every skill that I had. It was grueling & sometimes I wondered how we would make it, but I knew God would bless us.

I can finally say that my husband & I are thriving in not only our business, but our relationship. You could have never told me that I would become part business owner of our very own painting & drywall repair business. I knew nothing about it back then. Now, it’s so fun to wow people with my knowledge. Lol. No more jobs for my husband & I, we are full time working for our very own business!

So, if you are out there going through tough times in your family & believing that your breakthrough is right here, let me encourage you.

Like I said at the beginning, starting a business feels like raising a baby. From conception, to delivery, to growth & independence. We have the same feeling for our business. Put that same communication & time into yours.
